Over 60,000 places still can be reserved in Euro cities!

Up to 20 per cent of all places in accommodation facilities contracted by travel agencies for Euro-2012 fans have been already reserved, and 80 per cent of places are still available. Information about the lack of availability of accommodation facilities, along with dozen-fold overpricing, is not true, Markiyan Lubkivskyi said at a news conference in Kyiv.

According to him, Kyiv still has the highest share of available accommodation facilities. According to UEFA official accommodation partners, Tui Travel and Hamaliya travel agencies, almost 38,000 (37,714) beds for fans have been already contracted in the capital city. Meanwhile, the number of reserved beds is 5,155, and a further 32,500 places remain available for reservation.

The number of places contracted in Donetsk is almost 14,000 (13,884). The number of reserved ones is only 1,958, and 11,886 are still free. The number of places contracted in Lviv is 8,215, reservations have been made for 1,525, and almost 7,000 (6,690) still remain free. Over 11,000 have been contracted in Kharkiv. The tournament director noted that travel agencies had optimized their offers in terms of prices and the period of stay of Euro guests. “In particular, two-night offers have appeared: they were not available previously because everyone wanted to snatch a large sum and to accommodate guests for a month or for 25 days. These appetites are presently reducing, and prices will also gradually reduce. Besides contracted accommodation facilities (low-star hotels, hostels, dormitories, sanatoriums and boarding houses), agencies are also examining additional resources, survey private housing market having the name ‘apartments’ in Europe,” he noted.

The tournament director summed up by saying that there are all kinds of confirmations that sufficient number of hotel rooms is available in host cities. “There was an inventory of everything that can be offered to foreign fans by Ukraine and particular cities. Having monitored economy-class accommodation facilities, we have concluded that the basis acquired by us makes our country accessible for visits by tourists in the future,” Markiyan Lubkivskyi noted.

In addition to the objects already available on official accommodation portals, the possibility to make reservations in the tent camps specially designated for the European tournament will appear in February.
