Ukrzaliznytsya (Ukrainian Railway Administration) together with its Polish counterparts has already received the first group order for Euro-2012 fans’ transportation to Ukraine. It concerns 1,500 supporters of the Swedish national team: all its matches at the group stage will be hosted by Kyiv. This has been announced by Ukrzaliznytsya Deputy Director-General Leonid Loboyko.
Tre Kronor fans will cover a difficult route Karlskrona – Gdynia – Gdańsk – Chełm – Kiev. “Fans will be transported according to the following scheme: they will be delivered from Sweden to the city of Gdynia (Poland) by ferry, then to the city of Gdańsk (Poland) by land transport, and then by railway to the city of Chełm (Poland) where they will pass customs control and will be placed in Ukrainian trains heading for the Ukrainian capital. There will be three trains formed for Swedish fans altogether, but additional ones will also be organized, should the necessity arise” Leonid Loboyko said.
He has added that the order for transporting fans of the Dutch national team fans according to the same scheme, but from Chełm to Kharkiv, is being worked out. “We shall hold a meeting with pour Polish counterparts and will take the final decision,” the railway official noted.
