The Road Book for Euro-2012 will appear in Ukraine in late April. It will contain brief information about road conditions, places where one can stay overnight and have a snack, the same way as about different services in roadside infrastructure. The Road Book will be compiled by representatives of the Doroga.ua self-drive tourists’ portal jointly with the Segodnya newspaper and the Expert Ukraine business journal during Ukrainian road infrastructure monitoring and testing on Euro-2012 motorways. This was announced by the Doroga.UA club chief, Andriy Tychyna, during a press conference at the Information Centre Ukraine-2012.
He has said that an Internet vote for the best objects of the road service infrastructure along Ukrainian Euro-2012 routes will be held during the period of February and March on the Doroga.ua portal. “Hundreds of roadside hotels and restaurants have been included in our database. We shall organize a people’s rating of the best facilities that can be recommended to people travelling by car between the host cities,” Mr Tychyna noted.
Inspection tours, collection of information, along with preparation and publication of Road Books about Euro-2012 routes, will be also held after the vote, in the course of March and April. “Road guides will be published in three languages: Ukrainian, Russian and English. The number of copies to be printed will be at least 10,000. Road Books will be distributed in those roadside infrastructure facilities which will get the highest positions in the rating,” Doroga.UA club chief said.
